Our tour begins in the historic City of London, in front of the St Helens Church, Bishopsgate
We'll visit the bustling financial district of the City of London,home to the headquarters of major banks, investment firms, and financial institutions. You will learn about the controversial Corn Laws of the 19th century and see the hotspots of colonialism.
Later on you will see the origins of banking in Lombard Street, where the Bank of England was founded in 1694.
We'll also explore the Royal Exchange which was built at the time of the Chinese ‘Opium Wars’, a period which saw the collapse of the Chinese economy.
You will also stop by the London Stock Exchange, where you will discover Margaret Thatcher's secret plan that turned London into the largest exporter of financial services.
